when is the best time to list items on ebay?

i always list on a sunday night for 7 days, so it finishes same day and time following week when people are usually home!!!

if oyur auction is going to end on a work day mon-fri i suggest making it end about 7pm.Most people are home by then and can check in..if you also time it for 10 day auction you will get 2 weekends for people to bid on it..Otherwise thats all i know...

We always list on a Thursday @ 8pm for 10 days.
You get coverage over 2 weekends & ending on a Sunday @ 8pm (The busiest time for UK net users)

I normally list for 10 days starting on a thursday so its on for 2 weekends I find you are more likely to sell it this way

Depends on your target market as well though. Kiddies clothes and toys sell well if the end during the day between the school runs - ebay stats show that the traffic spikes around 9.30-10am as people log on after dropping the kids off.

Likewise, business and office products sell well during the day, and I find that CD's sell better in weekday afternoons and Sunday lunchtimes than on Sunday evenings.

For outright exposure, 10 days from Thursday evening is generally the better option, especially on multiple item Buy It Now listings, though on certain product lines I have had more success using a 3x 3 day listings than 1x 10 day listing - my product was on the front page for 3 days and took more sales than than just being front page for 1 day out of the 10.

The short answer to the OP question is "it depends"...! There is no magic formula and different strategies work better for different people, although always keep your target market in mind - try to second guess when they are likely to be online.

I normally have my listings finishing on a SUnday evening.

However, not sure whta to do this weekend as its Easter Sunday.
