Hi :-)
I am always confused by time zones ... a site does a webcast in Chicago at 9p.m. on Mondays ... the information on their site says UK participants need to tune in at 12 midnight, but everything else I'm reading says that area is EST and -5, therefore surely I should be logging in at 4 pm! I'm trying to find a freeware time zone clock that does all the sums, as my brain is going to mush with anything where I need to find zones out, sort out DST etc!
Many thanks, Cat

They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

At the moment the clocks in north american have gone forwards an hour for summer but ours haven't so EST is only 4 hours behind. However, there are some places that don't do DST so you have to take that into account as well (I have no idea if Chicago does DST or not). If the time difference is 4 hours you need to listen at 1am the next day, if it's 5 hours you need to listen at 2am the next day.0

Chicago is normally 6 hours behind though. At the moment it's only 5 (trust me, I was there on Thursday). If the webcast starts at 9pm there, that will be 2am next day here, i.e. GMT -5 means they are 5 hours behind us.Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0

Many thanks for such quick and helpful replies. Really appreciate it. Will tune in at 2 a.m. Tuesday!
