Having just finished my first post, I've just received my morning post! I've left my insurance renewal to the last minute. I've checked around and found absolutely nothing better than churchills still. My insurance has dropped to £363.
Because I've left it so long, churchills has got a little itchy over my wait to renew. They've sent me a £30 loyalty bonus - but only if I renew over the phone.
So what does that mean? Well, if I go with their online system with a new quote, I save myself £12. Should I use my voucher over the phone I save an extra £18.
hmm... decisions decisions decisions. If I hold out till past it has expired, will they send £50??? :- )

Tell em on the phone they are quoting you lower on the net...they probably will say they can't match that on the phone, but hey...save the most you can. May be pushing it a bit far to expect them to send you £50 to renew, but Tesco were offerring £50 cash back recently. Does your loyalty voucher run out on your renewal date?
Let us know how much you save then...Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!

I got the usual speil about discounts for online etc. Then we did some fiddling and I got it down further than the online quote - they'd not updated some details from when I moved. Final cost was £401 - £30 = £371. Fully comp, no legal cover but with NCB protection and an excess of £250 + £0 voluntry.
Every company is around the same mark now, but since I've got a cheque from my last claim in my pocket (£425) I've had a cheap insurance year.
Cheaper by £100 from last year (even with the claim and being 23).
I've come a long way since my first insurance quote - £2,200 on a 1ltr VW polo. I really liked the cup holders on that one! Still annoyed me that my friend with a slightly older car, same age and same experience was quoted £700 just because she was a girl! Statistics suck.Tim0 -
I 'phoned them with a query before taking out a policy over the internet. Once they had answered that they simply offered me the internet price and dealt with it over the 'phone.0

well, it was cheaper by £18 over the phone than on the internet with a new quote - so I ended up lots better off :- )Tim0

Cool...it is best to dig around as much as poss.
Some places will do more on the phone than others. Some internet only deals can't be beaten on the phone to the same company.
I got a good result this year from using confused.com to start with...which halved my premium from last year, even going fully comp from TPFT. Tho I am older than you, and it was for a vintage car, not doing much mileage.
Happy motoring.. think your gonna need that cheque to pay for petrol these days!!Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!
