Just joined the first MSERS league - the "Standard Bedfords" (don't ask). Been playing since the beginning and meant to join the MSE league but forgot so cheers for whoever bumped this thread.

    Hi srfield,
your current score of 591 takes you straight to the top of the MSERS league and makes you the 2nd highest scoring MSE team after manicmark who has 594 points and is top of the MSERS Strike 3 team. Not sure if ITV allow additions to teams at this stage but if they do I assume they won't adjust the league scores and standings until after Hungary. According to my calculations, with your 591 included, the MSERS revised average score would be 576.2 and would move them up from 20th to 13th place, 55 points behind the leaders.

    Hi thingamaBob,

Im Full Throttle, I did a quick review and a change before the German GP, but I'm not to sure how the fantasy games work. Do you get better scores by regular login into the site and making changes to your team? Or is it possibly for someone who hasnt logged in or changed their teams since the registered their team at the begining of the season get good scores?

I've changed mine a few times, but I'm not the most knowledgeable at F1, so I'm trying to make educated guesses based on last year and this year so far, but I know I'm not top of the league. :)

    Total to date - £309.15

    Hi white*star,
That's a difficult question to answer, I'm sure different people have different approaches. You are only allowed to make 2 sets of changes to your constructors throughout the whole comp. I changed mine after the 1st race as I felt I'd got it wrong to start with and I'm going to reassess them again before Hungary but will then not be able to change again.
You can change which driver you want for each constructor before each race e.g. Hamilton or Kovaleinen for McLaren and I usually look at how they did in qualifying and select which one I think will get most points. To do this you have to guess if they are going to get a high place finish and also how many overtaking points they may get. They get 3 points for each place they finish higher than their starting grid position. There's a lot of luck involved, I don't think many people would have expected Piquet to get 52 points in Germany and 2 of my selections were the only 2 to have mechanical breakdowns.
So, for me, I do reassess which drivers I want for my constructors before each race but often get the wrong one and I'm not among the leaders.
As for the Fastest laps, finishing positions and best & worst teams, these should, of course be assessed for each race.
Hope this helps but it's only my opinion.

    Thanks thingamaBob

I know what you meen about Piquet, that was a surprise, he did so well. I've tended to stick to the Mclaren/ Ferrari Guys which is a bit of an obvious choice, but I occasionally put the BMW guys in the mix for variety. Cheers for update. :)

After the Hungarian GP, the MSERS League have moved up from 20th into 9th position and MSERS Strike 2 have moved up from 428th to 257th. Unfortunately no-one in Strike 3 managed a particularly good score and they dropped from 453rd to 661st.
Best MSE individual score was greytony who's team WHO CARES WINS, scored 85 points for Strike 2. The overall individual winner scored 108.

The overall highest scoring MSE'r is now T.x who's team NE GRINGOS is top of the MSERS League with 642 points, 139 points behind the overall leading individual score.

There's still 7 more races to come so still time to catch up.
Next race in 3 weeks time is the European GP in Valencia.

Only 1 more GP to come, that's one more chance to win a Scalextrics.
Last race is in Brazil in 2 weeks time.
Just missed out today in China. My third team finished in joint 23rd place just three points behind the winner. If Kovaleinen hadn't dropped out and had finished 5th I would have had another 9 points.
This team, THINGAMABOBS3 in MSERS Strike 3 league, was the highest scoring MSE team this week with 104 points and my 1st team THINGAMABOBS1 in the MSERS league was second highest with 94 points. More luck than judgement.

Doesn't look like any MSE'rs are going to win anything now.
Our leading individual scorer is manicmark's team MANIC F1 in the Strike 3 league with 1082 points but that's 130 points behind the leader.
The MSERS league is in 10th place in the Mates League comp with an average score of 1035.2 with the leaders on 1095.0. Don't think we can catch up with only 1 race to come.
If MANIC F1 was in MSERS rather than Strike 3, MSERS would be in 5th place with an average of 1048.

Strike 2 are in 311th place with an average of 933.2 and Strike 3 are in 334th place with an average of 930.6

Good luck in the last race.
