Anyone else really suffering with AOL of late? Seems to be a frequent weekend occurance now that I cant get an internet connection. Its sporadic throughout the weekend, and frankly Im getting a bit fed up with it.

We have eliminated the possibility of it being anything other than aol now

Is this happening to anyone else?

I believe its because they were bought by Carphone Warehouse and there are issues moving them across to the new network. Personally I wouldn't touch AOL with a barge pole and would change ISP's asap.

I've been on AOL for years and it's always been the same. Frequently loses the connection. Seems worse though these days.

Been thinking of changing but we wouldn't gain anything financially (well not much) and I can't be bothered with all the hassle to be honest.

Their CS are absolutley c%%p as well.

Also having same problem, I can no longer send emails from Thunderbird as it says there is a connection error. And cannot use pando (file transfer software) as this also cannot find a connection! But all this works fine at my parents house who are not on AOL.

Im ok on the internet itself, but god its slow. Cant even get images to load on most sites as they time out.

And msn keeps dropping the connection meaning it logs me out, but it doesnt show me its logged out. So I think my friends are just ignoring me, but they see me as offline!

Should I complain? Or just give up and move?

Oh and I forgot to add that when AOL did one of their upgrades at the local telephone exchange. It knocked my phone line out for 4 days.

The hassle I had with BT and AOL each blaming each other.

we used to have frequent problems with aol, and switched supplier to virgin, and have (touch wood) not had a single connection problem, although broadband does have phases of dial-up type slowness sporadically.

looking back, i can see now how totally unacceptable AOL's high frequency of outages were, and i would never go back to them or recommend them to a friend.

Right have not been able to get on Halifax online banking for ages (well my boyfriend hasnt and he needs it for his work). Have discovered the reason!

Halifax have been trying to email him with details about how there has been problems with his logging in, and apparently have emailed him the solution. AOL have been blocking all of these emails! We have no idea why, as they used to come through (regular offer emails etc). We finally spoke to someone at Halifax who knew what to look at and they said his records are full of bounced backed emails!

    Really had enough know.
