Selling a mobile phone on ebay

I've got a BBIB nokia phone I want to list on ebay. I've been putting it off for weeks though, as I'm worried about scammers etc.

Does anyone have any tips to try to try to avoind the usual problems? I don't allow people with rep than a rep of 1 to bid, would send to an unconfirmed addie, or take any payment other than paypal.

Thank you all in advance!

Restrict bidding to UK only, state confirmed addresses only for paypal payment. Personally I would list as a BIN with immediate payment required by paypal by an account with a credit card on file - these usually have confirmed addresses. Make sure you send by special delivery.

Hi DrFluffy. The only other thing I do is don't allow people with a non-paying bidder strike to bid :) think it's in the same section where you can set it to not allow people with feedback less than 1 to bid.

Photograph from all angles, note down all serial numbers and IMIE number. Invisibly mark below battery and on battery, its not unknown for someone to exchange battery etc and claim not working. You could even mark the position of screws as well. Ensure that you send by Special delivery only (not recorded) in the event of a claim on paypal.
All this might seem paranoid but its a jungle out there.
