Holiday home on the south coast

I want a holiday home on the south coast and Bournemouth really appeals to me but it seems very over priced, anyone point me in the right direction for somewhere a little bit cheaper not too far away.

How far along the south coast do you want? What price range, what type of property, how large etc etc? Worthing in West Sussex is cheaper than Brighton, Littlehampton is cheaper than Worthing. The other way Hastings was cheap but got the overspill from Brighton when prices shot through the roof. I don't think anywhere in Sussex is cheap anymore. Perhaps someone else will come along with ideas in other coastal counties.~A mind is a terrible thing to waste on housework~0

Also depends what you want to be in the coast for. Fishing? Surfing? Building sandcastles? Collecting pebbles or fossils? Swimming? Yacht racing? Paddling with your kids? Paddling with your parents?0

Poole is probably cheaper than Bournemouth but the closer you get to the coast the more it becomes. Boscombe is probably cheapest in Bournemouth and also is a stamp duty exempt area if you get the right postcode, it's reputation keeps the prices a bit lower but anywhere south of Christchurch Road is fine and still close to the beach. Otherwise depending how bothered you are look further inland at the likes of Verwood etc. are cheaper. Going along the coast either way and prices are probably still similar. New Milton may be a bit cheaper.0

thanks for your opinions, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, southampton, and even a little bit further west of Bournemouth are the areas we are looking at, I don't mind coming inland aslong as the coast is easily accesable. so I'm about to scan the internet at Verwood (as suggested by woby tide):T    :j
