Alamo upgrade nightmare

Short story found the cheapest price I could in the UK to rent an SUV for 2 weeks in Sarasota, when the voucher came through it was for Alamo.
On arrival at Alamo in Tampa we were offered a free upgrade to a 7 seater, however on return home we had been charged an extra $300 dollars for this privelige and 2 e mails later even after threatening never to use them again, I'm still not getting anywhere.
Any ideas anyone?
It also means that from now on I will have to use direct rental sites only for fear of being given this shower again!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr s0 annoyed

Did you pay by credit card? If so get onto them.0

We used them, got an upgrade and no extra charge. I think it must be a mistake but don't know what you can do unless you go through credit cardDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
will see what they say.
Have an awful feeling that they will produce contract documentation refuting our claim you know what they're like - sales person tells you one thing, paperwork says another!
Thanks0 -
What usually happens is you are offered a "free" updrade because the car you booked is not there. However only the car is free, you have to pay extra insurance, tax ect, and these very quickly add up in the States.0
