Help - buying new ford fiesta 1.25 zetec blue

Local ford garage is not budging on price of £8995. I have seen quite a few on line retailers (drive the deal etc) selling for at least £1000 less.
Does anyone have any dealing with any of these as recommendations would be very handy.
Thank-you
Josey

Buy from the online retailer but search around to check it's legit before hand. You may even find you have to go to the person who refused to sell it cheaper to collect it and you can have a smirk on your face about how greedy he was being. Thing is these are bottom of the market cars so they'll always sell easy and don't need big discounts to sell well so the dealers won't budge.

I suppose you could try printing the prices out and trying to get them to beat or match those prices, but chances are they'll give you a sob story about the risks of buying from the internet and warranties being void, which is all untrue.

This isn't the dealers on York Road/Torre Road (Old Bus Depot) is it? Have heard a few bad things about that dealers - but then again I suppose every dealer will have people ready to complain about them.

Is this a brand new vehicle - pardon my ignorance if it is...

If not, I know a great place for nearly new Fords...

If it is, recommend dealing with Dagenham Motors (they are a dealership that is owned by Ford Motor company) - also have an excellent contact there...

PM me if you want further information.

as the last post says there is a new model of fiesta due out very very soon, not a facelift, its a totally new model which usually means over inflated prices for the new model when its available, and rock bottom prices on top of the range old models, give it a month or so and then go back to your dealer with the current internet prices.

    Thank-you for your help.

Jeannieblue, I am after new as these are hard to get hold of second hand.

Anewman, it was Ringways on the ring road.

Albertross & goldspanners, I have looked at the new model in reviews (the verve -out sept / oct) but prefer the old style, and will be keeping it for many years, so not bothered about resale value.

I looked at dealdriver as well, but would like some more information before I commit on line.

    Any further information welcome.

  • I agree with Jeannie regarding Dagenham motors!

They told me this week they are doing the Ka Zetec brand new for 5995 which is 1k below ford price! Does it have to be a Fiesta?

    Total so far £28

I also meant, the closer to November you buy, the cheaper the current model may get as they offload existing stock.

Have a look at some of this users posts if you want a little reassurance/tips on buying through the internet (the better ones you really do pay the main dealer, not the agent, so pretty safe):

Still think it may be worth giving Copthorne Motors a call - stacks of Fords - based in Sussex tho - not far from Gatwick Airport.

If they've not got one, they have their sources - ring them and ask for Andy - think that was his name! I got my car from there and i was very specific about what I was looking for!

They have a website - don't have phone number to hand.

Oh, and i don't live that side of the thames and noticed the other day that my service book had been stamped Dagenham Motors........

    Good luck

Just an update to let you know that we have done a deal with a local Ford dealer.
The list price for this car is £9995, Ford have an offer until end March so now £8995, they have also thrown in a tech pack and blue tooth pack free of charge.
We got them down to £8100 including matalic paint, tank of petrol and limited edition car mats.
Very happy with deal. Looking at the online sites gave me the confidence to haggle. Thank-you.
