electricty per unit comparison
I am currently looking to change electrcity suppliers i have tried several different comparison sites and previously the majority would give different results, but now most of them are recommending EON. However, when i get a direct quote from EON online it states they can not beat my current supplier.
It seems to me that the comparison sites must use different criteria and use different assumptions.
Anyway what i would really like to know if there is a site that shows you what the per unit cost is for different tariffs/companies?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm abit confused as you say the sites say Eon is the cheapest and when you go to Eon for a quote it says they can beat your quote.(This seems to be correct to me).Who is your current supplier?0

No, there is not a site that shows all the tariffs.
There are hundreds of different tariffs(changing almost weekly).
Electricity prices vary according to where you live - and so do some gas tariffs. Then there is Economy 7 & Economy 10, pre-payment.
Method of payment, dual fuel discounts, loyalty discounts, standing charges, Tier1/tier2 allocation of units all affect prices.
Comparison sites want you to change so they get commission; and will be 'creative' with quotes to achieve that aim.
The only way to be certain of who is best is to 'manually compare tariffs.0 -
The Eon online energy saver 5 is the cheapest because they give you a discount for direct debit(9% in my case) and a further discount(9% for me) for managing account online. Eon's actual unit tariff prices can be beaten, its the discounts that make the difference. If you change via Quidco you'll also benefit with cashback bringing the price down further.0

Good post, I think once you are off standard / Price fix tarrifs, and on some form of DD, Paper free, on-line energy saver tarrif - the differences between the companies are marginal. By the time you work out who is cheapest, and try to swap, waited the month for the swap to happen, the chances are the company you're swapping to, will have raised their prices or withdrawn that offer.0 -
