From: Equifax website: How long will information stay on my Credit File?Credit Agreements: 6 years from the date the account was settled, written off or defaulted, whichever occurred first.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I think as he settled it in 2004 you have to wait till 2010 before it drops offDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Only if the account was not defaulted I believe. This is something I have checked with the Information Commissioner.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

im confused now , thought that as the default came first in 2000 then it should start 6 years counting from there0

Ah yes you're right... it's which ever came first... why not contact the credit referencing agency and ask them to remove it
if they say no then surely they will tell you why

Hi
The default should have dropped off 2006 regardless. You will need to complain to equifax to remove this. Should be straight foreward0
