Best price for suitcases?

We are going abroad for the first time this summer, and therefore need to buy some suitcases. There are 2 adults and 2 kids (both girls 8 and 14). We have been told on 20kg in the luggage. We need to get some suitcases, any idea where is best, don't want to spend too much - looking for light and good value. Need to save for the spending money...

The best place I find for suitcases are the outlet parks, Cheshire Oaks, Lowry, Galleria etc. Plenty of different stores offering some great deals. That's where I picked my last set up from.

Do check the weight of the suitcases on the labels as some can be pretty heavy before you even put anything in the. Tesco have a "hold-all" type with wheels for less than a tenner which is only 2.5 kg empty and holds loads.

Most of my suitcases seem to get "killed" by the airlines so i wouldn't spend a lot.
I just try and choose a non black one so it stands out on the luggage caurosel.
My favourite suitcase is a huge bright pink one that I won. A radio station had a "name your own pampering prize" competition and rang people each day-everyone wanted weekends away and spa visits so I decided to be different and asked for the big pink case as I reckoned my chances were better with a more original prize. I was right-they did and I had to explain why I wanted it (booked holiday no cash left for new suitcase and wanted one I could easily spot) and won not only the case but £200 to help fill it

  • I'm looking for a quality hand baggage size backpack trolley. It's basically a trolley with straps so you can carry it on your back. Has anybody bought one recently and at what price? Thanxx.
