Mortgage insurance questions

Hi, i just chaned mortgage lenders and i am not tied in with any mortgage insurance.

Do i have to have mortgage insurance? if so what is the best to go for?

    You only insurance that is usually compulsory is building cover- and that can usually be taken with any provider
