I never thought to see such an uninformative post from one of my 'hero technical posters'! Dear, oh dear!

To which version of AVG do you refer? The free one, or one of the paid-for products? Is it v 7.5 or v 8? Could you describe the 'nuttiness' in rather more technical terms?

I've got AVG 7.5 Network Edition on about 25 PCs at work, and just updated AVG 7.5 Free at home on one of my PCs (about 0.5 MB download!), and haven't seen anything obviously unusual, by the way...

What does it say for Security Status when you click on the icon in the system tray?

    Hi

My AVG has been playing up for a few days now. It says it needs updating and is in 'error state' but when I try to update it says it is already up to date - but it isn't. Very annoying!

Might try uninstalling it as Browntoa did. Anyone else have any ideas. At moment I've no virus protection.
