Credit Card charge

I have been paying off my credit card on time but recently I wrote a cheque for £252.00 instead of £252.20. It was a genuine error on my part in not reading the 20p. I have now been charged £5.17 for that small error. I am quite annoyed and wonder if there is any purpose in complaining.

If you pay off each month why not set up a direct debit to pay the full amount?

It might be worth a phone call to see if they will refund the interest but they are not obliged to do so.

It was YOUR error. You have no cause for complaint! Phone customer services & ask nicely if they will waive the interest on this occasion. They may let you off this time particularly if this is your first ''offence''.
