Tesco Raincheck Voucher

They are called "Special Promise Voucher"
The employee at the checkout needs to enter it in as a "Non scanned coupon"
They issue them at the customer service desk, At the store I worked at (Thornbury) I used to issue them all the time if we only had one product and it was on BOGOF or 2 for £1... or another promotion.. They only product they cannot issue them on is mobile phones, wine, games & consoles, cd's and dvd's!
So if you take the product that is on the offer to the CSD and explain there is only one and you would like a "Special PromiseVoucher" so when you have your next visit to the store you can pick one up on your trip! Hope this helps!!
think they are called "special offer promise voucher" its a till reciept that they hand write quantities in.
also , when you try to use it at the till next time they are in stock, that can cause some confusion too.Its not something Tesco promote to well, and they certainatly dont speak to the staff about them0 -
I had the same problem last week, an item that was on BOGOF, only one left, asked two members of staff if they had any more stock, they didnt, but both told me to buy the one and come back in with the receipt next time and i would be able to pick up the extra item.
Real problems when i went into store next time with my receipt, I had quite a lot of shopping and put the item on first told the SA what I had been told, she called over a supervisor who didnt even bother to look at me and said if you dont have an 'owing note' we can not supply you, I explained what I had been told and she just walked away and said, No owing note no product, My blood then boiled, I kept quite calm at the checkout, and went to Customer Services and told them I wanted to make a complaint about the way I was treated at the checkout by a supervisor, They asked me what the problem was, told me to fetch the item and then scanned it and passed over to me. They also told me, If this type of thing happens again to come and see them at Customer Services.
I dont know if the above helps anyone, but I for one will not listen to shop floor staff from now on, and I will ensure that I have something written down to say that they owe me the item.0 -
Thanks for pointing this out. In my last few trips I noticed that Duck breasts were half price per kg, which is very reasonable since it isn't often on offer. However, every time I have been the stores have been out of stock . I asked at customer services, and they gave me a hand written 'special offer promise voucher' and said to give it to the checkout staff next time they were in stock and I would get the Duck at half price...so pretty happy that they knew what they were doing! Well worth asking...

Yes, they are very useful for any grocery offer which is out of stock.
And with BOGOF & similar offers, you can get the promise note/raincheck voucher if there is just one item left, or none left (either situation will do).
I love these vouchers, and as mhoc said if you go back with the voucher whilst a BOGOF offer is still on you can get 2 free items (the till will do the BOGOF if you buy 2, then you can show your ticket to get the price of the first one back too). Obviously don't point out it's still on BOGOF and make sure you buy other shopping too or they may just notice if your shopping is free!
It will usually work if you pick the till operator carefully....no smart Manager-in-waiting types or jobsworth older ladies!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for pointing this out.
I knew nothing about these type of vouchers.
Do they do the same in all supermarkets, or just asda?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Tesco do these promise voucher on anythin thats on special offer except where the offer says subject to availability. This get out clause is usually put on things like games consoles with free games etc.0
-
Why don't they just put these BOGOF offers on the shelf in pairs!
Or just get enough stock in! They want to sell it don't they!
What about if there is NO stock left at all - do you have to know the barcode or something?0 -
I work in a store. The reason why there ends up being one left is there is always some crackpot that doesnt want two!
You tell them at the tills that its on offer and they say they don't want it!
Nothing you can do about it

Hi,
I've just been in touch with Customer Services and they told me that Tesco's don't have an Availbility Promise and that Raincheck Vouchers are issued at the Discretion of inidividual Store Managers!0 -
WHAT? That is ludicrous. Grrrrrrrr at Tesco for being inconsistent. A policy is a policy surely, what a total cop out0
