Tesco Raincheck Voucher

I tried to get a raincheck voucher for some mayonaise - after asking 5 different people and explaining it to them - I was laughed and asked what idiot told you about them - they dont exist.

I have written to Customer service and they ignored the main content of the letter - even though it was underlined and put in bold!

Can anyone help me with this??? Where do I go from here?

    What is a raincheck voucher?
7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers
  • I remember this policy well...........haven't attempted to use it for some time though..
I would say email the customer services again, but only enquire about the Raincheck, do not mention anything else, short and to the point, as they only seem to answer one question in any letter
2011: £10 Sports Direct Voucher, Peppa Pig Wii Game, Trivial Pursuit Card Game, £100 Chat magazine win, Dance workout dvd, Grease wii game,

I have used one of these this year too, and luckily they knew what I meant when I said 'raincheck voucher'. Maybe staff at your store are quite new - or is the store a newish one - maybe they have never been told about this old policy.

The vouchers are really old paper sheets that they hand-write, doubt if they've been changed in years. New stores may never have had them.

Is there an older/larger store near you where you could ask at their CS desk for help in getting the other store up to speed on them? Ask if they mind confirming to xxx store what these are (serial number or something) on your behalf. I doubt they'll give you a blank one as an example(!) but if they do that would suffice too, you could then show it at the first store.

I would raise this as a polite but firm complaint with a Duty Manager at the original store, as the staff laughed at you - it's simply not on!

Fella in Mr Ts had a raincheck voucher ( just a bit of till receipt with product deals on it with promise to suppy at said price) for a XBOX bonus game pack ???

He was having a right go at the CS lady as she said that they didn't have any & wouldn't be getting any, he complained that he only got the XBOX form Tesco cos of the deal...... sorry, don't know the outcome, she wondered off to see the manager & I whispered MoneySavingExpert.com in his ear :D

Are thye called customer promise vouchers?

They are well worth asking for at CS if you find a BOGOF item and there is only one item left so you cant get your free one. They should ideally give you the item free next time you are in store but if you get really lucky next time the item is still on BOGOF so you end up with 2 items free.

    Also get them in Sainsburys

They are called "Special Promise Voucher"
The employee at the checkout needs to enter it in as a "Non scanned coupon"
They issue them at the customer service desk, At the store I worked at (Thornbury) I used to issue them all the time if we only had one product and it was on BOGOF or 2 for £1... or another promotion.. They only product they cannot issue them on is mobile phones, wine, games & consoles, cd's and dvd's!
So if you take the product that is on the offer to the CSD and explain there is only one and you would like a "Special PromiseVoucher" so when you have your next visit to the store you can pick one up on your trip! Hope this helps!!

These are now called price promise vouchers & are still given in most stores, ask to speak to the manager in your store, that usually gets staff moving
