Arrrrggghhh!
So frustrated.
We got a buyer for our house, got an accepted offer on the house we want to buy.
Only 3 in our chain.
We are moving long distance, and I've had an interview and got a new job and sorted out new schools for the kids.
Surveys done on our purchase property and on our property.
Buyer was aware of underpinning 15 years ago, all insured, no movement since.
Now our buyer has moved out of his property, into rented accomodation in town, apparently. But has given nobody his forwarding address or phone number!
The estate agents and his solicitor can't get in touch with him.
I can't believe either of these two didn't have the brains to ask for his new address before he moved.
We are just hoping he's waiting for his mortgage to come through.
It's just over 3 weeks since the survey was done on our house, so he's already paid some money out, and I'm counting on about a week for the report to get done, and hopefully he's sorting out his mortgage.
It's just so frustrating.
If he's pulled out then fair enough, but we would like to know about it.
Anyway, sorry for the rant, I've been holding it together for so long, but just feel like screaming at the moment.

Hi,
I can understand your frustration - our seller disappeared for a month during when we bought their house. We actually got to the point where we had to exchange with our buyer (otherwise would lose him) and up to two days before we were due to move out of our house no-one could get into contact with our sellers to sort out final issues and sign their contract. Turned out they had taken a months holiday in Florida and forgotten to mention it to their solicitors. Unbelievable! But it all got sorted out in a very frantic two days.
So don't despair - people just don't use their brains sometimes. If he's already forked out on a survey I'm sure he will make contact very shortly.
Best of luck x0 -
I would get some other viewers in, just in case.
Hope it works out for you. Why do people do this?????0 -
Sounds like he has had a change of heartpoppy100

Just to point out.......not all surveys cost money so he may not have forked out any money.0
