DH has an Audi S8 , he had it lpg converted for just over £1,000 4 years ago, he drives a minimum 25000 miles a year, and he intends on keeping his car until he says it falls apart. it wasnt done to see any return other than cut his fuel bills, which it has done.
knowing that is costs over £70 to fill up with petrol, dh fills it for well under £30.
we had no problem insuring it, (previously with direct line & now elephant) with regard to reduced road tax i never bothered, it seemed to much hassle.
you cant go on the chunnel with it, bil looked at borrowing it to drive over to france on a booze cruise, however you can go on ferry,we drove over to france no problem.
still got a huge boot space too.

As the post above shows, LPG makes sense for anyone with either high annual mileage AND/OR a car which is very thirsty.
LPG is actually very simple technology, and once fitted and tuned correctly, rarely gives any further trouble.
Ignore the potential savings at your own peril, get on board and SAVE MONEY whilst the iron is still hot.
For those who do not have high annual mileage, IMHO the best course of action is to buy an already converted car, some of them are factory converted (mainly Vauxhall, Volvo & Ford).0
