Best way to invest/spend £6000?

I have recently come in to some money £6000, not a great deal but would appreciate any advice with what to do with it! My heart says sell my existing car and buy a nice little convertible for the summer but my head says do something sensible with it? Seriously though, would it be good to invest in something like a car or does anyone have a better idea investment or savings wise? Many thanks!

    Sounds like Megan,
    Spelt like Megan,
    Purrs like a cat,
    Goes whooosh just like that,
    Floats like a butterfly,
    Stings like a bee,
    Too Small for Mohamid Ali,
    Dunno about you,
    But for me it'll do.
