M&S furniture delivery

We ordered a sofa from M&S online, and they phoned to ask us what day and time (within a 4 hour slot) would be convenient for a delivery.
It turned up on the correct day, exactly on time, with 2 lovely polite delivery guys who carried it all the way to the top floor, "assembled" it (ok, they put the cushions on!) and let us examine it before having to sign.
Very impressed
It's nice to know some companies actually understand that people have to go to work and earn a living, therefore daytime deliveries with a wide time slot are just not convenient!

I agree with the above. I ordered a dining table and chairs at Christmas, took months to arrive but was very impressed with the delivery. Didn't expect them to assemble the table, and take away the packaging. Excellent service.0

I couldn't agree more with the OP. We had some oak shelving delivered 2 weeks before Christmas, and the delivery guys were so helpful and assembled the unit. When I found fault with the item and phoned M&S they got me a replacement sorted and delivered 2 days before Christmas.

Another vote for M&S furniture, we had two sofas from them about 3 years ago. As stated above, really kind, friendly delivery men who put down dust sheets to walk on as it was raining, put the sofas in place, cushions etc and removed all the packaging. I even got a hefty discount applied afterwards because the prices had been put onto special offer of 30% off all furniture between me ordering and them being delivered. I e mailed and said that, if I'd known, I would have waited a few days before ordering and they refunded me the difference without quibble once they had been delivered. (About £300)0

Couldnt agree more - best delivery service I have ever experienced. Very careful not to mark walls and extremely good natured even though it was difficult to get the very large sofas in place! Wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to anybody.0

I agree, we had a console table delivered and they called (as requested) 20 mins before arriving to let me get back to the house from work. They arrived, asked where it was to go, took the packaging off outside to stop any mess, brought it in and asked me to check it before I signed anything.

Can completely agree now (i.e. past couple of months) however, before xmas it was pants.
Now: "we've got this date, that date, another date" (basically about 15 dates to choose from over 3 -4 weeks)
Then: "If you don't accept this Friday it will be 2 -3 weeks brfore we offer another date" (asked if they could see what was available 2-3 weeks in the future and was told "we're not allowed to book that far ahead")
So, well done M&S delivery for improving, I just need the accounts to catch up now!
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.:cool:
