Now i have cancelled my direct debit with British gas i was expecting a bill for the amount owed.Do you usually get asked for the amount straight away, or do they wait till the next bill is due??

Sassybabe, if there is currently a balance owed on your account, they will pursue the balance. If not then they will ask you to pay when the bill is due.0
