i have just used WinDirStat and found that sonic record now has 47.4 gb is that all files that are important to the system or can they be deleted?0

sonic record? that the cd burning software from roxio? if it is, the majority of the files will be disk images or temp files, which can be safely deleted. you should be able to work out which are important by looking at filename/extensions.

the computer is about 4 year old and i suppose it must every disk i have burned in 4 years
