Anyone bought a car from BCA Blackbushe or Enfield?

The service books are normally stapled on the entry form, which the auctioneer has as the cars are going thru the ring. Listen carefully for the auctioneer after he's said the make and model, cos then he rambles onto saying the mileage, if its warranted or not, then logbookhereoneownerhistorybookfourstampsguaranteedfivebid.
The next thing you know, you've bought it with a blink! Lol.
The screen banner normally states how many stamps the service book has.0 -
Thanks harveybobbles. would you say that Blackbushe is no longer worth it as it's now full of over-paying private buyers and coupled with the high auction fee for someone like me (was quoted around 350 for a 7k car)? I just don't want to pay dealer money!!!0

I buy lots from Blackbushe, but as a Trader we get masive discounts on the fees.
You'd have to go along your self and see how you feel on prices...0 -

I have to say I partly agree with this. It depends on the day. I have bought several cars privately from Blackbushe. Most have been bargains. The last 3 have been a Volvo which I got a good £2K under the cheapest private price - in fact I got it nearly £1K under the trade price. I then bought another Volvo for my father, again about a grand under trade price. The Saab 93 I bought for my wife recently wasn't such a bargain. By the time I had it serviced and bought new tyres it worked out about the same as if I had bought one privately. However it was still a good couple of grand less than I would have paid a dealer. The Mondeos still seem to go for peanuts. When I change my car I would definately sway towards one from there. So there are definately bargains to be had!"...IT'S FRUITY!"0 -
Hi all,
Just bought a van from Blackbushe - sold as having a "small problem". Unfortunately by the time we got it home we realised that the problems were many and huge! Has anyone ever found themselves able to have a comeback against the auction house? I believe that there is not an automatic "sold as seen" clause with comercial vehicles, but I can find no information on the website.
This will leave us in a really sticky spot if we have to write off the money - all information or advice welcome!

You need to know what the auctioneers description was - the actual sale will have been recorded, by BCA - but generally you'd be buying without warranty, unless otherwise declared by auctioneer.
It IS worth you talking to them, though, if you GENUINLY feel you've been fed false information. It would have been more easy, if you'd done it there & then. I'm assuming you bought it today, but have got the vehicle off-site, which won't help, I'm afraid.

Thanks Vansboy.
We have bought successfully several times at auction before. We usually know what we are looking for, but feel they really mislead us on this one.
BCA have told us that they are just the agents and are contacting the company selling the van through them. I have sold at auction before and had to sign a declaration of the condition of the van - presumably so that BCA could come back to me incase of problems. I would imagine this is the cased for commercial vehicles too?
thanks for your comments though.0
