Prepay credit cards?

Hi
Im thinking of getting a prepay credit card. I want it to shop online with, open a ebay account etc.
I have just a basic bank account that I cant currently upgrade to a current account to get me a debit card, as I dont have a passport(must get one sorted!) and my provisional driving licence(must finally pass my test lol) isnt enough proof.
Does anyone know if my provisional driving licence would be good enough to get a prepay credit card? I mean, its not as if I will be borrowing money.
Also-which would be the best card to go for?
Thanks

Don't know if it helps but Lloyds now give you a debit card with a basic account.

I heard CashPlus is quite good, and so is The Sun's Tuxedo card. Do some google research and you'll find plenty of websites comparing the costs and benefits of prepaid cards.
  • I used the cashplus after getting into debt and when I couldnt even get a basic bank account with a debit card.
It worked out very well for me, as it was only used for online payments. Now i have a debit card so no need for cashplus now.

I picked up the XE cred Maestro card for £8.95 as there were no charges for payments and only a flat rate of 70p per load if you do it at the post office. I want it for matched betting so it looked like a good card.

There is a £1 charge for ATM use but that's again a flat rate so is great for me as I'd withdraw a large amount at once. :)

    Worth a look.
