Helloooo
Does anyone know where I can either get hold of a glossy mag with great pictures and ideas of what to decorate a 15 year old boys room or anyone know of any website with great pictures.
Thanks very much

when my brother was 15, his bedroom was decorated with glossy magazines-and he thought the pictures were great!0

why not let him choose what he wants?
on the glossy pictures front... how about the large posters in HMV??0 -
From my experience with boys, ( a 17yr old brother) the Ikea double loft bed is great, because they can put chairs underneath so their mates can come round and play x-boxes or whatever it is thats popular these days, and they still have a double bed so they feel important an cool - either http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10101&storeId=7&productId=41400&langId=-20&parentCats=10103*10144

Underneath he has a small table for drinks etc and chairs and a rug, and some massive cushions for sitting on when there is loads of them.
He also has quite a modern but 70's retro feel bedroom, its painted a wheaty kind of colour and has some 70's feel accessories, like a sheepskin on his chair, a fluffy white rug, and some 'faux' leather lamps with circular designs on them. He picked pretty much all of it himself, and tells his mates to come over to his 'pad' to 'chill'. Its quite amusing!
They all love the room though, it also has a mini fridge too to keep drinks in there, has a few of his own pint glasses I collected for him from various places he is interested in (like the WWE store in Times Square, NY), has his collection of sports cars and games on his shelves, and school books etc hidden away in his mirrored built in wardrobe. All thats on show is 'cool' stuff, and the pics on the wall he chose himself, and has a corkboard to pin other stuff up on there.
I think the main point with boys is to let them choose so they can express themselves (although goth boys might have to be told that black paint is a no-no!) - it gives them a feeling of 'ownership' of the space too and are more likely to take care of it, and shows that you intend to give them a bit of responsibility for their room, and are treating them as an adult. They also love having their mates over to show off, even if they would never admit to it in a million years!

P.S - Ikea already have some pre-built 'bedrooms' on show, maybe you could take him there so he can actually 'see' the stuff and get a good idea of size etc, and he can show you what he loves and hates there and then come up with a plan together!#KiamaHouse0 -

Groooovy - you're not Austin Powers' sister are you? :rotfl:
Trouble with letting them do it themselves, is that you may be the family with the neighbourhood Goth. Black Black Black Black Black Window Black Black Black.0 -
good luck - but I always found that it doesn't matter how much time and trouble you go to - they are only happy when they have covered all your hard work in posters and stickers and it stinks of socks or lynx !!!!0

:rotfl: No - my brother is just a bit odd! He loves having a really nice room, especially when his mates have dirty socks and mouldy plates in their rooms and prefer going to his room! He even has his own laundry basket, neatly tucked away in the corner!

He sounds well trained - wish my kids were like that (especially the middle one).
Seriously though, the earlier idea to let him have an input is a good one (Goths notwithstanding) - it can instill a little more pride in his room and its' appearance.0
