Winner paid via paypal e-cheque: good/bad?

Hey everyone

The winner of my auction has actually sent me a paypal e-cheque which take atleast 4 days to clear.

are these safe?

  • Yes, but you still need to wait until paypal send you another email to confirm clearance of it before sending item.

    That and they generally take longer than 4 days. Usually around ten. It may be worth emailing the buyer as they may not know they have paid you that way, Paypal don't make it clear.

  • Yes they are safe but they take ages to clear the last one I had took 15 days to clear...paypal tells you to wait until it clears before sending the item. I now no longer accept echeques...

    You might want to let the buyer know so that they dont start stressing you as to where thier item is and also they might not realise that thier payment has gone through as an echeque. I have had to stop two echeque payments in the last month and both buyers did not realise thhat the payment had gone through as an echeque.

    Its really not a problem it just takes a long time to clear. :o

    i would inform the seller. this happened to me once, i didn't receive an item and chased the seller. they told me i had paid by e-cheque and it took 10 days to clear. it had never happened before, or since, it must just be a glitch in paypal.
