Beware!!! 3% Cashback From Royal Bank

I recently got a letter from Royal bank of Scotland, offering me "3% CASHBACK on purchases till end of April!" It was a card I already had, but was not using, and the letter said there was no application process, I could just use the card straight away to benefit! Seeing as we put all our spending on a credit card, and pay of in full each month, it seemed a great idea.

However, I've just received my first statement, and the amount of Cashback actually works out to around 1.5%!! I have rung them, and the girl said she wasn't aware of that offer, and couldn't confirm what rate I was actually on!!! They are looking into it, and are supposed to be ringing me back!

For anybody else on this offer, or other Cashback offers, it might be well worth checking the rate you're receiving!

It wasn't one of those offering "upto 3%" cashback was it? The GE Money one we had last year offered 3% cashback, but only on petrol and supermarkets. Everything else was 0.5% I think.

No, I saw that one, but this said, " 3% Cashback on everything you buy ..."

Wonder how many other people they've done this to??

Is it possible that the offer start date was mid way through the statement period?

    I assume you've registered a formal complaint?
