On a final note, an article in yesterday's Guardian says it all ...sounds like we are not alone..

Thankyou Canucklehead - it takes me all week to get through mine, but will now look.
We'll enjoy the £50 cashabck when it comes, too - far enough off to have almost forgotten about, so it can be a happy surprise(though I've logged 60 and 70 days on my calendar.)

whilst yes we are brands - as someone works for the group - each part see each other as part of the competition as well as part of the same group(sibling rivalry if you will) - yes we all share the same profit share - and as you say fall under the same roof, but the insurance market is very wide whilst each insurer may have specific markets these will over lap and if you speak those working on the floor of the group it is seen as direct competition (this may not/is not be the case higher up however)

wether it is because the department i work in deals with all brands, but where i work, it is not seen as competition between the brands on the shop floor, but as i said that may be because we are a cross branded department

I can see why this would make sense - perhaps aswell the fact that I deal with the sales side of things would slant my view slightly also
