Anyone used raileasy.co.uk?

Hi folks

Just wondering if anybody has used raileasy.co.uk? It's another commercial train ticket booking website, like Thetrainline, and they do seem to be coming up with cheaper prices for me. There is a £1 booking fee.

It would be great to hear people's views on the site and whether they could find cheaper tickets throught it.

Thanks!

The price they quoted me for numerous journeys was exactly the same as QJump and more than nationalexpresseastcoast.com.

It comes up with exactly the same prices as other sites for me - including for example the same mistakes in the validity of railcards.

It doesn't seem to find cheaper fares that I know exist on certain routes - not without prompting in the same way as the trainline, etc, anyway. And you can't display ALL fares and then search for availability of them as you can elsewhere.

It does show cheap singles in the first retrieval rather than having to click a further link - one plus I suppose.

But I don't really see the point of it

    Thanks keep 'em coming!

On some journeys it does seem to be coming up with fares that aren't available on the trainline though. Especially cheap first class fares that don't seem to be on the trainline?

Can you be more specific? It <shouldn't> happen, which is not to say it won't - you may have to 'play' with the trainline to find them.

I have been looking for a journey this Tues London to Edinburgh returning Wed, and they are significantly cheaper than the others - and can go First Class on the way back for only £12 extra each. Total for 2 of us £317.
Only problem is tickets have to be collected at a machine and none near us - so would have to go from Woking, where we live, to London and collect the tickets there.
It's a real pain as if we had booked some time ago it would have been much cheaper - but it is for an open day at Edinburgh University - it's their last open day and only open to students with offers - and the offer only came through at 5pm today. A very expensive offer!

There's still £17.25 advance singles available. I found them on First Great Western but they should be on all sites.

And several megatrain services at £16
