iBuyEco, cancelled our policy!

While renewing a 07 plate Ka for a 19year old driver, 1 years clean license, no claims, was quoted £156, (via !!!!!!!!!, and moneysupermarket) so paid it in full and got all the policies through, Great.
A week later we have received a letter saying they priced it wrong at their end, and have cancelled our policy, for no reason other than they screwed up, so we now have no money to pay for the insurance as we have subsequently spent the rest saved up in the meanwhile.
NOT IMPRESSED.
Can they just cancel it for no reason other than they have screwed up?

Yes they can cancel the policy in the same way that many individuals do when they change their mind or have an accident or move house etc.
I am suprised that you did not realise it was a mistake at that price.
If you really do have no money then I suggest you budget for both a "car fund" and an "emergency fund" for both unexpected car expenses (fines, repairs, accidents) and unexpected general expenses (loss of job, damage, repairs, burglary etc.).
It's really not a good idea to operate with no money whatsoever because life has a way of chucking stuff at you now and again.0 -
