sorry if this is in the wrong section
i have had a lloyds tsb credit card for a number of years which i pay ppi on in 2003-2004 i became a full time carer and struggled to pay my monthly payments to lloyds since reading some of these posts it got me thinking as to weather i should have paid it or claimed on my ppi
if i could of claimed it is it too late to do anything about it now as i still owe £2000 on this card
at the time in question i was claiming cares allowance and income support for my wife and 4 kids
any help and advice would be appreciated

Claims can be made retrospectively, provided the eligbility was / is met.
If you were made unemployed not by choice (and 'not by choice' does not include voluntarily giving up work to become a carer) then they would pay 5% of the outstanding balance each month for 11 months then subsequently clear the balance. The same would apply for any period of accident or sickness.
From what you describe, it sounds as though you would not have been eligible to claim on the PPI.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!

mrmajika I think you are wrong - if you become a carer I believe that the PPI will cover you as long as it could not have been forseen when you took out the PPI.0

If you call 0845 3000 130 they will let you know pretty quickly whether or not you have a basis for a claim. You should phone them - there's nothing to lose.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!

That is good news.
It just goes to show that because we expect the worst that we drag our heels in finding out what we are entitled to. We pay so much for it in the first place. Companies hope that people will not make a claim for one reason or another. If in doubt claim. Ask on these boards if that helps, but claim.“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0
