I know I must sound very girly but could someone please explain how you change a washer in a tap. I know nothing about this sort of thing so the instructions need to be easy and very simple to follow.

Minxy well done for asking this. I need to know also. I know you have to turn the mains off, remove the hot/cold plastic thingy, then unscrew the screw you discover. I think this then reveals the faulty washer, which you then take to ? to replace in the correct size.
Can someone confirm this is right? Also where do you buy the tap washers, and also do you have to drain all the taps before commencing??Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Pretty close. Turn off the water,Remove the top plastic cover on the tap.you should then be able see see a screw.Unscrew this and pull off the top cover. Now you will need a spanner to un-screw the tap head ( these can be very tight).Once the the head is removed you will the washer at the bottom of the head ( some washers are held by a screw).0
