Changing the default reminder setting in Outlook

This is really bugging me.....I use Outlook for work email and sync my mobile with it.
If I create a new ALL DAY EVENT in Outlook, it defaults to set a reminder for the event to be 18 hours before. As an all day event starts at midnight, 18 hours before is 6AM!!!!
Not a problem you might think, but when the mobile is on, the reminder goes off at 6am in the morning......WAKING ME UP!!
I know the easy way of doing this is to manually change the reminder to be 12 hours, or even turn it off, but I ALWAYS forget.
So.....the question is.....where the hell can i amend the default reminder for all day events in Outlook? I can amend a bog standard appointment reminder, but I can't see anywhere to change the all day event!
HELP!!

Depends on the version of outlook, but on outlook 2000:
Tools->options and there's the default reminder under the calendar section.
For 2003: http://malektips.com/outlook_2003_calendar_0007.html
For 2007: http://www.lockergnome.com/windows/2007/07/16/change-the-default-reminder-for-appointments-in-outlook-2007/- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -

That's the problem......it changes the default reminder for 'Appointments' and not 'All Day Events'.....so I'm using Outlook 2007 and if I set an appoinment to start at 9:00am and finish at 11:00am, the reminder goes off at half 8......happy days.
However, if I set the appointment to an 'all day event', the reminder STILL goes off at 6 in the morning of the previous day!

Ahh, now I understand. Doesn't seem there's a way to do this although many have asked.
Best option is to try and remember to remove the alarm or manually alter it.- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -

The problem is, I need a reminder to remind me not to set a reminder!!
