    Hello,

It is for "uninsured losses". This could be

    a) loss of your excess
    b) loss of your no claims bonus (if not protected)
    c) personal injuries
    d) loss of any contents if not on the main insurance policy
    e) loss of income

These items may well not be covered on your main policy.
It does not provide insurance for these items but it provides legal cover to pursue another motorist either individually or more normally via their insurance.

Now you could try a "no win, no fee" firm after the event, but there are advantages of having a policy that tied into your insurance (potentially a more seamless service).

It will not help if there is no third party to claim from and it won't help if the third party is uninsured and has not assets, neither will it help if you are to blame.

Personally I would take the policy for the sake of £20, but some people have different views.

I believe there is a cheap offer with matthews guide

I have no idea of the quality of the product and no connection, but a number of people have thanked me for pointing it out in the past, so at a minimum we can say there are some happy customers.

ok, that's really really helpful thanks..
I just wondered about it's 'worth' as it was being sold as an extra to my policy and not as compulsary.
Thanks again for your help

It was helpful to the guy I acted as a witness for at a small claims hearing last week :)

It was actually the other party that sued him for their excess but it ended up that they actually lost the case and because my guy's solicitor had put in a counterclaim, he got his excess back instead.

I wouldn't be without it. It's only an extra £15 a year on my policy.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

Had mine for years, always take it out, never used it but then again you hope you don't. Like all insurance it's for when things go wrong, best if they don't;) , but............
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
