Taking into account the traffic on these days (usual holiday queues), weather etc I'd be inclined to go for a nic e luxury hotel at good price.there are still a small number of 4/5 star hotels with swimming pools etc at £29 per person a night on special offer at https://www.devere.co.uk/venues. Admittedly you will need to check exact whereabouts of quite a few of these as the offer has been online for about a week but as at a few mins ago there were certainly la fair number of deals for 2 adults + up to 2 children for under £300 in total; some inc B+B, others full board and all had plenty of activities within easy reach by car of larger towns/cities. Same deal "offline" seems to be £39 a night per person and breakfast abt £5 extra. I have stayed at someof the DeVere properties and have nothing but praise for those I have used .They are only available at those rates because most of them are business hotels with conference centres etc thus "unused" at Easter time....0

            Hi
I can wholly recommend https://www.highwrayfarm.co.uk in the Lake District, it is just outside Ambleside and is very close to loads of Lakeland attractions.
The above is B&B accomodation, but the standard is very high. We went there 5 years ago and loved it that much we have been back every year since, but now we use their self catered cottage instead as we have 2 little ones.0

Very nice! Just waiting for a reply to see if they accept pets, I think I'll take my dog there too.0

            Hi
Whilst there get them to show you the self catered cottage too. We stay in the cottage every year, but we book more than a year in advance, for example, we stayed there February 2007 and we booked for July 2008, if you leave it too long it gets booked up.
Don't worry if you are using the B&B though, there is a bit more chance of getting in. If you cannot get the week you want this time, put it on your shortlist for places to stay because it is fantastic.0

            hi aj
i have had a couple of holidays near the channel ports near the somme estuary. It's a great place and good value for money.
For crossings i have used tesco vouchers for eurotunnel or got a cheap crossing £60ish from norfolk line.
I stayed at an eco village called Belle Dune run by pierre et vacances. a week there out of season is about £400 , but you can book up for 2 days. Its great if you have have kids in tow , but I would go for a hotel in towns if you are looking for something a bit more adult. I can recommend Hotel de la Terrasse in Fort Mahon Plage if thats waht you are after
The places to go to are Montrieul-sur-Mer and St Valery-sur-Somme. Both are charming French towns. A place a bit further along are the coast which is on the same theme is Eu.
Hope this helps , if you need any further help feel free to ask.
 Bonne Vacance !0

You could try Sunparks near Nieuwpoort (Oostduinkerke) or near Bruges (De Haan). Oostduinkerke is really near a theme park called Plopsaland. De Haan is near an aquarium, dolphinarium and zoo park. Both places have indoor leisure pools, huge indoor children's play areas and cheap bike hire. You could get a short break there on an early booking or last minute deal for less than £200.
 www.sunparks.be/en
you can use Norfolkline and get there for less than £40 return if you choose the right crossing time.0
