I don't know if anyone can give me some advice but if they can it will be greatly appreciated. I have transferred balances on my credit card before and have never had any problems. I would like to transfer to a 0% card as my current one is now charging me interest of around £20 a month. I can't afford to pay more than the minimum payment, so it never seems to go down. I have applied for three 0% balance transfers from other card companies but each one has refused me. I'm wondering if it may be because I am now living in rented accommodation after separating from my partner but I really don't know. Any ideas ?

Get a copy of your credit report and have a look. If you're not on the Electoral register, this won't help, but there could be other problems. Best check it out.

Also, you shouldn't have more than 3 credit checks on your file in a 6 month period or that also affects your credit score. You may be better waiting a while before applying again.

Do you have more than 1 card?
Have you tried getting them to reduce the APR?
