Odd question - How much....

Would it likely cost to run for 12 hours a day a little tiny tortoise in small glass cabinet with a heated lamp/light for 16 days !

My OH has offered to babysit this tortoise who goes by the name of cheescake ! and im wondering if its the sort of consumption that wil make the leccy company try and put up the DD !?

Oh , and i remember just how much our electric went up when we had a fish tank:eek:

Hi DJGsaver, To give an answer we really need to know the wattage of the heater and lamp, and whether the heater is on a thermostat. My feeling is that it will not be too high.

PS Did you get your gas bill/meter problem sorted?

Hi DG...If the tank is on a thermostat, which bound to be, it would use less electric if tortoise could be encouraged to generate own heat by moving quicker.
So perhaps stick a rod on his shell and attach a carrot to the end. :-)
