OH thinks I might have shingles  but I doubt it
Can't think of the slightest Boots related topic (my excuse is spending the day being phoned by daughter from skiing holiday - first spent hours getting 5 year old's ear infection sorted, then summoned to hospital cos husband has broken his shoulder and will be a bodybrace for at least 6 weeks!)
Shingles - worth getting the suspicion checked out, cos the whizzy anti-retro-viral drugs work only if you catch the very beginning of the illness.
I had it in facial and optic nerves, which I really don't recommend.0 -
I dont see why not(return them I mean!)
I am going to return a NO 7 tinted moisturiser as it went through at full price in one store. I bought it the same day in a diff store for half price, and it was not reduced stickered or anything!!
I need to rant re cust service in 2 places today(not Boots though! ). I was returning a pale pink jacket bought in one TKmaxx to another one nearer to me and the SA refused to take it back! It had 2 different tags on it and I had my receipt. It was reduced to £15. It has a dirty mark on the back of it which was on it when I bought it(from being on the floor in the shop) and I think she was implying I had worn it. How you can wear something with big tags on the outside(which are a kind you could NOT remove and reattach) I cant work out. I will need to take it to the store I bought it from. I asked her to write on the receipt re her refusal to take it back as my 14 days to return it are up tomorrow. I am so angry i want to write to thee HO. I spend hundreds of pounds a year in TK(or did!!!!).
Second upset- Took DDs Swarovski earrings to Debenhams to get them sent back as stones are falling out(again). These earrings have spent more time at Swarovski than in her ears. This is the 4th time they have had to go back. It takes at least 6-8 weeks for them to come back. My daughter has other Swarovski jewellery and earrings but only these ones give problems. We only got these back before christmas. The SA told me that the stones are falling out as "dirt" is getting behind the stones and pushing them out and we are "not taking enough care of them"!!!!!
She then changed her tune and said the "dirt" was perfume! My daughter has a lot of designer jewellery and takes great care of it. There is just something about the design of these earrings, they are like small half balls with stones set in. I was very annoyed at the SA insinuations and attitude. I wasnt even complaining about the fact they were going to have to go back again, I only mentioned it in a jokey way. Are earrings not meant to be worn?
They say things come in threes so Ive one more to go!!
Sorry about the rant!
Never went to Boots today(yet!).
K
Awww poor you, how you maintained your calm ill never know!!!! Id be fuming and want to pull the SA over the desk to hit her!!! LOL!!!

I'm sure they will be soon though. As for those hatboxes? They're just a waste of a display cabinet now imho.
(Sorry tbear06 - it's just that the ones in the 75% sale have spoilt me a bit, but I'm glad you're enjoying yours)
Got alot of things in the 75% sale but never saw any hat boxes, would get another if they went to £4.50, first time I'd seen them today - Meadowhall.0 -

I saw the stand this morning, but because it said free if you spend £15 I did not want to take a chance in case they had overridden the tills in Watford. Can I ask, did you just pick one up and put it through with your shopping.
I have to go into the Harlequin again tomorrow to take DS's phone to the Carphonewarehouse for repair and also to get anniversary cards for OH's parents. This is a family task because OH's mum is in a nursing home and it is very difficult to find a card that just says Happy Anniversary without all the extra 'schmaltz'.
I might try the MF box if you let me know what you did.
Thanks.
Hi Dollywops,
I just put it in the basket and went to the checkout. The till does say 'xmas gwp 0.00' as it goes through but the SA didn't bat an eyelid.
Looking at my receipt, I have noticed that I got another bargain. At the checouts upstairs there is a reduced shelf with packs of 8 Duracell AA batteries for £1.90 per pack. I bought 3 and it seems they are on 3 for 2, so £3.80 for 24 batteries.:j0 -

You'd have been doing somersaults if you had tbearI couldn't believe it when I spotted them, and on the 3rd day too! :j But then again, I got excited by £2.50 mugs! :rotfl:

well i got the brunette ones, and on the funny shaped lid they did say "trevor sorbie professional" - sa didn't have to enter it manually. (these two were the ones i got... http://www.boots.com/brandtreatment/product_details_brand_treatment.jsp?productid=1066936&classificationid=1042418 and http://www.boots.com/brandtreatment/product_details_brand_treatment.jsp?productid=1066935&classificationid=1042418
Ok that is wierd as instore those are not marked as the professional range!
Skibster...did the SA actually attempt to put it through the till, or just refuse it totally?0 -

Hi Deborah!
Thanks for the sympathy earlier re my shopping experiences!
When do you go away?
I had a bit of luck later when I found a £10 note on the way to my car after picking my daughter up from work at the Fort. But I didnt go into Boots in case I had another bad experience though!!!!!!
KMoney is only of any use if you can spend it!:cool:0 -
This thread moves at a pace. I have been out of the loop for a while, had flu, knocked me off my feet for almost 2 weeks.
Fleetingly read a few pages (10) but can someone explain the free toothbrush please.0
