10% off with british gas

hi all just a bit of info if you are on benefits and have a prepayment meter british gas cut your bill by 10%, i have only just found out (bit p'd of really as if been on benefits for 3months now and this would certainly have helped especially over christmas)

anyway just thought id let everyine know as im sure many are like me and never heard anything about this before

Ive never heard anything about this before, if you do not mind me asking where did you hear about this, was it on their website or did you get a letter or something? Im with British Gas for Gas and Lecky both on prepayment so 10% off would be brilliant thankyou will have to check this out!!!!:beer:

hi i rang them complaining that my bill was to high, as soon as i mentioned i was on benefits so couldnt afford it and that i was thinking about switching they gave me this number 0845 850 2207

It's called the Essentials Tariff, it's for people who are on certain benefits and means if you have a pre-payment meter you'll only pay the lowest standard price instead of the higher pre-payment rate.
