Silly question

I hope it's not a daft question but when you fill in on-line for freebies , do you give your proper name , (i know address you'd have to) also what's safer on-line when buying credit or debit cards thanks

I give the minimum iformation needed to get the Freebie. I use my last name but with a false initial, I use a paticular email address, not my main one. I use the same DoB (but not my own) and I avoid giving a telephone number. If I have to use a Telephone number I use 01000 000000. It seems to be acceptable for home and mobile numbers!
I would be interested to see what other people do.0 -

:rotfl: that made me laughNot unless your getting credit from them or asking for official things
Cant imagine the Fraud squad investigating you for requesting a free teabag off Yorkshire Tea or a free 'Mr Men' poster
i use a duff surname and dob and phone number..also helpful when getting random mail thru the post for credit cards and stuff from spam sites falsely offering freebies2harvest details...most decent freebies come in a jiffy bag so nything otherwise in my 'duff surname' goes straight in the bin0 -
sorry for keep asking but as i got a criminal record.... its sotra essentail that i dont do anything illegal....... obviously i dont like to put my correct detail on the net for fraud etc... reasons... but i dont want to be commiting any fraud/crime myself...... say for like huggies nappies.... sim cards..... if i use diffent details am i doing wrong? Thanks
in all honesty i doubt even 50% of ppl use their corect details and it wouldnt be classed as illegal0 -
I suppose with competitions it's a bit different, you have to give correct details !0

I always use my former phone number. That way even if I'm "caught out" (which is highly unlikely) I can say I wrote it out of habit not realising the mistake. And I avoid getting sales calls too. Win-win situation! :j0

I use my real name, accidentally mis-type phone number (that's my story!!) unless it is essential for contact, and a DOB that is just slightly either side of mine! That way it's difficult for the info to be used fraudulently. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Yea, I don't really think giving the wrong details classed as fraud. Unless you are drastically changing your details!!

Reverend Micheal Light
But really I dont think anyone will mind with todays problems on the internet with fraud. Were only protecting ourselves.0 -
If you used false names and details to obtain for example dozens of free tea bags that would normally be one-per-person, you could be considered to be commiting an offence.
However, If you are applying for a freebie in good faith you have every right to call yourself whatever you want, for example to use an abbreviation of your legal name or a nickname (as long as you are not applying for a bank account, passport etc. as previously stated).0 -

get one of the cheapo payg phones. e.g. the virgin offer on here £12.95 with £10 airtime credit, £5 quidco, and an extra couple of quid from virgin for registering with them online.
use a google email address and protect identity for any phone or online pesky calls or emails.
use whatever name you like and the only address that needs to be accurate is house number and post code.
DONT GIVE OUT CREDIT,DEBIT, OR ANY PERSONAL FINANCIAL INFO FOR FREEBIES.
Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?
