alumimium solar paint on felt roof

I have just refelted two flat roofs on my home and we decided to paint the finished felt surface with aluminium solar paint instead of chippings, but we look out of our bedroom onto the roof and it is too bright in the morning sunshine.

Does anyone know how to dampen the glare down or use another product which can be put over the painted surface

  • Just paint it with good old bitumen paint which will finish it , obviously , matt black and will also expand in the heat so no cracks or splits will appear on roof . Available from any good DIY shop or Builders Merchants for around about £10 per 5 litre

    Not i dont,but couldn,t resist it;)
As for your problem,i wouldn,t touch it,give it a few weeks and the silver paint will flatten out,and will reduce the glare, but still reflect the heat.
I wouldn,t paint it black as it will tend to asorb the heat.
