Moet and Bollinger are not necessarily the best tasting champagnes - you are paying for the label, rather than the drink. The following articles might be of some help:

Out of the two I would choose Bollinger, but personally I prefer the Tesco Finest one! xGone ... or have I?0

Saw this on another thread earlier

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Personally i prefer Lanson Black Label which is only £15 a bottle at Asda, where as over £20 elsewhere.0

I agree with other posters here about the tastes of champanges... I have been very privelged to have tasted a wide range of champanges costing up to £300 a bottle, but would have to say that this is not always an indication of quality.
Over Moet or Bollinger I would choose Moet rose. (Laurient Perrier rose is my fav).
Personally I think that if I was actually paying for it myself I would choose Sainsbury's Extra Dry Champange (costs approx £15 per bottle- and you could prob find some money off vouchers online too). From what I remember this champange won a tasting awards few years back, over some of the highest brands avaliable.
As you can tell I like fairly sweet champagnes.... so I try to always add a few squeezed raspberries to the bottom of my flute!! Strawberries work just as well.
Gosh I really fancy a glass now!!!0 -
I had both Moet & Bollinger recently & I did prefer the Bollinger, but that may have been a psychological thing
Last week I had one of Tescos finest champagnes and it was gorgeous!
Moet & Bollinger are lovely to have if its a really special occasion because theyre recognised as a bit decadent but honestly, the cheaper stuff is just as good0 -
Thanks so much for all your replies.. been so helpful!
I have to admit that I drink champagne every weekend.. albeit 'cheap' ones or sparkling wine. But every now and then and Ilike something a bit special.
Ive got the 40% off voucher for threshers and by george am I going to use it!!!0 -
Bollinger every time. It is my fave champers, in fact probably my fave drink fullstop. For me it has much more flavour than (standard) Moet. Not had rose Moet though.
Cheers!0
