Hi,
At the moment near the computer there is an NTL box attatched to the wall which the NTL people put, then a cable coming out of it to the modem and then a cable from the modem which goes into the USB socket. This is currecntly upstairs.
I want to move the computer downstairs and of course want the internet on it, but don't want a long wire going down the stairs.
Is there a cheap, reliable and easy way to set up this wirelessly?
If there is could someone list everything i will need and recommend equiptment.
I am also thinking of getting a laptop... if i make the connection to the internet wireless does that mean i could be on the internet with no wires?
Thanks

I use this wireless router (which i also got from ebay):

This would enable your PC to connect to the wireless network:

And if you future laptop isnt already wireless enabled, this'll do the job:

Hi, So are you saying all i need to do is buy that Router, connect it to the modem. Then put that wireless network card into my PC and i could use the PC in any room in the house??
Thanks0 -
tesco do a wireless router and usb network card for under £75 that is specifically for NTL broadband - you can add an additional card to your laptop for another £25
the card described below wont work as you can only connect to NTL via a usb connection, it doesnt give you options to read a card installed in the rear of the machine - unless there is some techy way to make it do this (i couldnt work it out though)
i just bought the stuff from tescos, it took less than 5mins to set up0 -
