index catalogue store - faulty goods

does anyone know how i return faulty goods to index catalogue store - they have shut down in bradford where i live and a chainsaw i bought a couple of months back has broke on me - what are my rights?

there was a number to call that was given on a sheet with it but i havent got one maybe someone else on here has a copy of it tho

id be very grateful if anyone has - im just trying to find my receipt - annoying when you cannot find them even though you know you saved it....aaarrrghghghg

can you believe it - i just cannot find the receipt, but, the box has the index shopping code on - would that be enough? im still looking - may just turn up

If I remember correctly Agos are handling/honouring Index returns. There was a poster in the window of the closed Index store.

no sorry it said on the poster that index werent handling index returns as they are a seperate number may be worth calling littlewoods the catalogue company as they were a part of them and i am sure it was one of their numbers

i know in my argos store we have business cards on with a number for you to ring with regards to index products. try asking at customer services

i emailed littlewoods and have been given a couple of numbers to call..............08702644444 or 08457078810 and i have found my receipt so will see what happens....thanks

i have just called the numbers and they arent open till monday, they have a message saying all 16day refunds are cancelled and only refunds given where they are due by law or something like that - in other words they will try get out of it..........hopefully i have a case for a refund as the item has broke on me and i have only used it a couple of times - i bought it on 4.4.5 so that is only about 4 months ago - any advice please? what if they tell me i have to cover postage to return it to them? it will cost a fortune to do that with it being a chainsaw - do i have to do that? i heard argos had bought them out - surely they might have to deal with some of the queries? i dont want to be too tight on argos though as my sister works there - i will enquire with her as she may know more............

i didnt realize argos had bought them out tbh.

i think the one one the slip was an 0845 one so maybe worth trying that on first if thats any help

My daughter works for Littlewoods, just asked her, she says go to Argos, ask for an Index Returns Card, they are dealing with Index faulty goods.
