What is 'Guaranteed Car Hire'

I'm looking to reduce OH's car insurance and some companies are offering 'guaranteed car hire'.

Under the information bit, it says they will deliver a hire car to your home and it will be the same class/size as your current car.

Is it an enhanced car hire (ie posher car than you would normally get) or is it a posh way of just saying 'car hire'???

Say you have a ferrari. You have an accident, and the ferrari goes off to the approved repairers. If the car can be repaired, you'll probably get a courtesy car. It will probably be a Nissan Micra, 1litre thing.

If the car is a write off, or it's stolen, you don't usually get a courtesy car. Guaranteed hire car cover usually means that even if the car is written off or stolen, you'll still get a hire car (as opposed to a courtesy car) and it will be similar spec to the car you're going without.

    Does that make sense?

also the enhanced option will only be for a set period of time (14 - 21 days)
standard can be limitless, and often you pay for the extra option.
