unfortunatly, nothing
there are lots of things that repel them, but everything that gets rid of them has been banned. not even pest removal companies nor the council will help with this prob any more. i had lots of inherited real wool carpets, and still to this day have a prob.
if poss, dry clean, but warn the cleaners before what you are coming in with. if not poss, then try freezing the offending item, and once out, keep in an airtight room, til you are sure they are all gone [like we all have one of those, that's when my panic room comes in handy :rotfl: ] or a really really hot wash, though not great for wool
once got rid of, try cedar wood balls, lavender essential oil, moth balls [smell awful]
only other option is to go to france, and hope the moths don't follow....no seriously, you can still buy moth killing sprays over there, try in auchan supermarket, i think carrefour doesn't sell it. it works wonders, and we always bring back vast quantities for friends and family.0 -

Is there a law for baning Moths pest control thingys?
I thought that I will try to buy some bouce sheets myself to give that a try as I hate the smell of moth balls!0 -

Thanks - but what do you do with them? Do you place them around the room or wipe down with them?"It is always the best policy to speak the truth-unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome K Jerome0 -

as far as i understand, all chemicals that work have been banned, as they might kill us too. what is left is chemicals that don't work...0 -
Ok, I see what you mean just been reading about these moths and saw a warning about what you was talking about.
Thought that I might put it here for anyones interest;
WARNING. Traditional Moth Balls (even if available) should not be used. These contain either Naphthalene or Paradichlorobenzene. Both chemicals are potentially very toxic. They vaporize to produce fumes which may have toxic effects on humans and pet animals. Likewise, household insecticide products containing Dichlorvos should not be used. All dichlorvos-based household insecticides have been withdrawn from sale in the UK as potentially unsafe. They are no longer approved for home use by the UK Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP) and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). Before buying or using household insecticides check the active ingredients listed on the product packaging. Avoid all products that contain Naphthalene, Paradichlorobenzene or Dichlorvos. Do not use any insecticides on clothing, bedding or other fabrics that come into close contact with humans or pets.0
