By the way, does this count as a default against my credit record? And if it does is there anyway to get it removed from my record other wait for 6 years.
Been waiting for my credit record from experian for the last 4 weeks, okay I only sent my proof of address stuff back a week and a half ago.
Just wondered if anyone knew ahead of time.

I think three missed payments in a row counts as a default.
I suggest that you are going to have to keep a diary that documents you financial transactions and lists future commitments. Why burdon your brain when the written word on a page of paper, in a book, can be the key to your financial problems ? Just remember to keep the thing up to date.

I guess I'm just gonna have to wait and see what experian have on me before I'll know for sure.
Wish they'd hurry up it's taking ages. I'm sure it was about 2 weeks ago that I sent them some bank statements and my drivers licence.
I have more or less sorted myself out in terms of paying things now, no longer using the head in the sand technique.
I've been trying to get a loan so I can consolidate all my debts from my credit cards and my loan from my car but because of this I dont know if thats going to be possible. Might be living with my parents for a lot longer than I planned for.0 -
You should get reports from both Experian and Equifax, what appears on one won't necessarily appear on the other. Different companies use different agencies so to get a full picture of your credit record you'll have to look at reports from both of them.
I don't think this "miss 3 payments and it's a default" thing is correct.
If you are to be placed in default I think you have to be given written warning that the lender is planning on taking that action, and also inform you that it will have credit consequenses.
A series of missed payments aren't great, but it's not the same as having a formal credit default listed against you.
If you were in default the credit card company will have sent you a letter specifically telling you that fact, and you'll see it registered as "DEFAULT" on your printed credit report.0 -
Yeah I originally applied for the Experian report about a month and a half ago because that is who HSBC use, and HSBC was where I was trying to get a loan from. Just wanted to get this one so I have some idea that i'm hopefully not up poo creak without a paddle. Just didnt realise that it would take this long to get it.
Would of used the free trial if I would of known, just didnt want to risk forgetting and losing £40.
Thanks for the advice about being defaulted, I havnt recieved anything so with any luck I wont have to wait 6 years before I can get a loan.0
