hey guys just a quick ask I two days ago signed back to BT after having problems with Tiscali and their bills and the fact I can never find any one to talk to . Today I tried to use my phone and it appears that service has been suspended through normal channels although at the mo I can still use the Bt prefix to make calls . Tiscali say the bill that I have been trying to find out about is £187 and that I must pay straight away or my line will remain suspended . I explained that this was a shock and asked to pay it off in four instalments they said no now or nothing . Simply will Bt still take over my phone even though I am having problems with Tiscali and will my internet /line be affected in the meantime

From what you say carroger, you still have line rental with BT and have just been using Tiscali as your CPS provider.
That means that you are probably on BT Together Option 1 and, as such, will already be getting free weekend calls of up to an hour to UK 01/02/03 numbers via BT (the 1280 prefix).
To save any hassle, I'd just use the 1280 prefix for all 0844 and 0871 calls, for 01/02/03 calls at weekends and 18185 for international and mobile calls and, as appropriate (see HERE) for 0845/0870 calls.
Then, when you've cleared your debt with Tiscali, either change to BT Together Option 2 (if you're willing to agree to a 12 month renewable contract) or Primus Saver Option 2 CPS.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
no I don't pay BT anything I have a package with Tisacli that includes line rental . Tiscali say that the service is on incoming calls only I am most worried about still getting my internet connection as I work on-line as a text operator No work No money They can't even tell me if incoming calls only means no internet as it is still working at the moment but this service has only been restricted today . They won't allow any other method of payment other than all at once£2008 in 2008 club member no 390

In which case, I don't understand your "although at the mo I can still use the Bt prefix to make calls" statement.no I don't pay BT anything I have a package with Tisacli that includes line rental.
Anyway, I'd say it is highly likely that Tiscali will cut off your broadband too (they're in trouble themselves so will be chasing every penny) - so I'd urge you to clear that debt a.s.a.p.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
