MSE costing users time and money !

The MSE e-mails average 40,000 to 50,000+ characters each, the real information in it is around 9000-10000 characters, so those who pay by the minute on dial up, or on adsl with capping are paying for the PRETTY PRETTY of HTML.

If you take it that there are around 100,000 ? subscribers, that is an awful lot of bandwidth being used per e-mail distribution, per year.

So suggestion, how about the availability of a plain text e-mail as an alternative to the html.

It's one of the things we're working on.

Unfortunately the key to the email is the links - and that can be very tricky.

The aim in time is to have an html/plain text option

Bandwidth woes aside::), Your list server could be part of the problem as it appears to not support user mail type election and such.
Your not on some cheap virtual hosting account any more, it may be time to join the big boys using a proper list server.
Mailman is currently one of the best free ways to go as it is more user friendly (and admin friendly) than majordomo.
This has the added avantage that users can select plain text on the list server and you don't have to worry about it any more
